Properties:

Pantogar is an oral agent for hair and nails, supplying them with the fortifying substances calcium-D-pantothenate and L-cystine, an amino acid. It also contains the protein keratin which is the most essential constituent of the hair.
Pantogar has an advantageous effect in the case of various forms of diffuse hair loss. An improvement in hair growth is observed, both from the number of spontaneously lost hair and by an examination of hair roots. Pantogar improves the hair structure, increases the resistance of the hair to mechanical and chemical damage, damaged caused by sunlight and altogether strengthens the hair.
Nail growth disorders are greatly improved by Pantogar. The nails become less brittle and their elasticity increases.

Indications:

Pantogar is indicated in:

  • Diffuse hair loss (hair loss of unknown origin)
  • Degenrative changes in hair structure (stressed, thin, inelastic, brittle, lifeless, dull and colorless hair)
  • Hair damaged by sunlight and UV radiation
  • Prevention of the greying of hair
  • Nail growth disorders (brittle, cracked and inelastic nails)

Contraindicatons:

Hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients.

Side Effects:

In rare cases, intolerance reactions, such as outbreak of sweating, tachycardia, accelerated pulse, skin reactions with rash, pruritus and hives, have been reported.
Gastrointestinal complaints like heartburn, nausea, flatulence, abdominal pain and diarrhea are possible.
Furthermore dizziness, headache, vomiting, palpitation and erythema have been reported from post-marketing experience.

Dosage and Administration:

Pantogar should be taken at meal times with a little liquid. It should not be chewed or crushed.
Unless otherwise prescribed by the physician, the following dosage should be followed:

  • Adults: 1 capsules three times daily
  • Children from the age of 12: 1-2 capsules daily

Pantogar should be taken for an average of 3-6 months, if necessary to be continued or repeated.
Due to insufficient data, Pantogar is not recommended for use in children below 12 years.

Pregnancy and Lactation:

During pregnancy and breastfeeding, a doctor should be first consulted before taking Pantogar.

Warnings:

Since hair formation takes place slowly, it is important to take Pantogar regularly in the prescribed dose over a period of 3-6 months in order to ensure success.
Pantogar is not indicated either for hair loss with scarring or for androgenetic or coventional alopecia (male baldness). In these cases, however, Pantogar can strengthen the remaining hair.
