Description
Antispasmodic, analgesic, and antipyretic.
Properties/Actions
Spasmopyralgin-M (different forms) provides a powerful antispasmodic, analgesic and antipyretic effects, produced by its contents of the efficient antispasmodic Camylofin, and the potent analgesic/antipyretic Analgin.
Spasmopyralgin-M removes spasm and pain effectively.
Indications
  • Biliary, renal and intestinal colics.
  • Dysmenorrhoea and cervical spasm.
  • As antipyretic.
  • Pains due to pancreatitis.
Contraindications
  • Hypersensitivity to any of the components.
  • Blood diseases, rapid cardiac arrhythmia.
  • Narrow angle glaucoma.
  • Prostatic hypertrophy and obstructive bowel diseases.
Drug Interactions
  • With camylofin, addivtive anticholinergic effects may occur when given concomitantly.
  • With anticholinergics, antihistaminics, tricyclic antidepressants or quinidine.
  • With analgin, additive haematological disturbances may occur when given concurrently with chloramphenicol, sulphonamides or other bone marrow depressants.
Side Effects/Adverse Effects
  • Hypersensitivity reactions in susceptible patients.
  • Occasionally dry mouth, flushing, blurred vision, tachycardia, difficulty in micturition.
  • Haemolytic anaemia in patients with glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency.
  • With prolonged therapy, analgin-induced blood dyscriasis may occur which is reversible on discontinuation of therapy.
  • Hypotension may occur with injection when gvein IV rapidly.
Pregnancy & Lactation
Contraindicated in pregnanty and nursing mothers.
Dosage & Administration
Tablets:
Adults: 1-2 tablets, one to three times daily.
Children (10-12 years): 1 tablet, one to three times daily.

Injectable forms:
Adults:
  • In severe attacks, 1 injection of 5 ml IV, to be repeated if necessary.
  • In less severe attacks, 2-5 ml IM.
Children:
  • Doses are to be given as directed by the physician.
  • Given from 1-3 times daily.
Drops:
Children:
  • 6 months to 3 years: 5-10 drops.
  • 3 to 6 years: 12-15 drops.
  • 6 to 12 years: 17-20 drops.
Suppositories:
Adults:
  • 1 adult suppository, 2-3 times daily.
Children: (use children suppositories)
  • Infants from 6 months: 1/2 suppository, 2-3 times daily.
  • Children up to 5 years: 1 suppository, 1-2 times daily.
  • Over 5 years: 1 suppository, 2-3 times daily.
Overdosage

Warnings
  • To be used with caution in patients with asthma or other allergic disorders.
  • Patients allergic to other pyrazoline derivatives may also be allergic to Analgin.
  • If administered intravenously, inject slowly into the vein over one minute. If injected rapidly, there is a possibility of sudden decrease in blood pressure and subsequent shock.

  • Tablets, drops, ampoules: Store at room temperature, away from light and humidity.
  • Suppositories: Store in a cool place.
  • Tablets: Strips of 10 tablets.
  • Drops: Bottles of 15 ml with dropper.
  • Ampoules: boxes of 5 ampoules of 2 ml or 5 ml.
  • Suppositories: Boxes of 5 suppositories for adults or children.
